Schalke fans may remember the name of František Rajtoral. At the end of a lung-bursting run in the final moments of a Europa League fixture in Gelsenkirchen, the ball ricocheted into the path of the full-back. After the first-leg in Plzeň ended level at 1-1, a game which truly signalled the ascension of Vladimír Darida by the way, Schalke had taken an early lead in the return tie in Germany, but were unable put the result beyond doubt. With the clock counting down and Schalke pressing for a second, it all seemed inevitable that Viktoria, down to ten men, would be defeated. But after a late, late break forward and a lung-bursting run from František Rajtoral, the right-back found himself six yards away from goal with only Timo Hildebrand to beat.
Moments later, Rajtoral was wheeling away in celebration.
