Deutschland uber arseholed:
Vorsprung Durch Tenpints...Everyone's favourite Bavarian has been in front of the beak, after parking his Porsche - however reports that he ran away from the scene must surely be a gross exaggeration....
Dietmar Hamann has been banned from driving for six months and hit with an £8,250 legal bill for a series of motoring offences.
The Manchester City star, who had been drinking alcohol, lost his licence after his £70,000 Porsche Carrera crashed into a fence and he refused to tell police who was driving.
The former Liverpool midfielder, 34, was discovered by police in the early hours of Halloween last year running away from the crash site.
When police questioned him about who owned the car he told them: "No, I couldn't drive like this."
The former Germany international pleaded guilty to failing to supply information to police.
But he denied driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident.
He was convicted at an earlier trial he did not attend.
On Monday, magistrates in Macclesfield fined him £7,750 and ordered him to pay £500 costs.
His barrister, Tom Gilbart, told the court Hamann earns £30,000 a week. Outside court, the player, dressed in a brown suit, said he would not be appealing and refused to name the driver of his car.
Nicola Roberts, prosecuting, said: "The circumstances surrounding the collision is that it occurred at approximately 2.50am on 31 October on the A538 Altrincham to Wilmslow road.
"A witness saw a man dressed in a black dinner-type suit on the cycle way walking towards Wilmslow in the area of the Honey Bee pub.
"He described the male as quite angry, waving his arms about and talking to himself.
"The witness continued and saw a car embedded in a fence to his off-side
"The car had been travelling towards Wilmslow, left the roundabout and collided with the fence.
"The witness stopped his vehicle and approached the car - the Porche's engine was still hissing.
"He believed the man he had just seen gesticulating had been the driver and contacted the police."
Roberts added that two officers saw Hamann, of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, running from the scene and stopped him but did not breathalyse him.
She said: "He identified himself as Didi Hamann and one of the officers recognised him as a professional footballer, formerly of Liverpool and now of Manchester City.
"They asked him if he was the owner of the car and he answered 'No, I couldn't drive like this'.
"He smelt of intoxicants and said he had been to the Honey Bee."
The prosecutor said the pub would have been closed for at least three hours before Hamann was in the area.
The two policemen left Hamann and visited the crash scene where they suspected the player had been the driver.
They returned to find him but failed.
Hamann was interviewed by police the following November when he refused to divulge the driver's details.
"He answered 'No comment' to the vast majority of questions," said Roberts.
The player's barrister asked the court to impose penalty points rather than a fine.
Gilbart said: "Nobody else was injured during the accident, no other vehicle was damaged, the only damage done other than to his vehicle was to the fence belonging to Manchester Airport and full reparations were made as soon as possible and paid in full by Hamann.
"This isn't a drink-driving case.
"The offence is totally out of character for the defendant."
He added: "He is a family man with two children aged eight and nine and is married.
"As part of his work with Manchester City, he has undertaken voluntary work with the homeless."
Hamann, who has one week to pay the court, was given a £45 on-the-spot fine in February for not wearing a seatbelt.
Chairman of the bench, Stephen Conquer, warned the player that if he drives during his six-month ban, he will face a jail term.

Dachte der Didi wäre eher so der Typ nervöser Schwiegermamaliebling.

Quiet waters are eben deep.
